Development of Regression Equation of Impedance Body Fat Using Physical Information

Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to develop the regression equation of impedance body fat using physical information. Using height and weight, We can know one's obesity status of BMI. However we don't know %body fat. If we can check percentage body fat using physical information, It will be aided for reducing body weight.

METHOD: The subjects were 2,157(male 1,057, female 1,100) persons. We did the test at 8¢¦9 A.M. We used the Fanics FA-94H for height/weight and the Inbody 3.0 for % body fat, and the tape measure for waist circumference. Data were analyzed to linear multiple regression analysis through SAS program 10.0 for Window.

RESULT: The results were no significant change among various factors involving hip circumference and BMI. However the result involving circumferences of height, weight and waist, we can got the significant regression equation as generation and sex. We concluded that the regression equation was [%BF = K+X1¡¿Height +X2¡¿weight+X3¡¿waist].

CONCLUSION: Asians have higher body fat percentage at a lower BMI compared to Caucasians. So We think the regression equation on % body fat should be changed as a ethnicity. We wish to help check the % body fat very easily who want to control body weight.
